History

In the late 1970’s, a portion of the Obuch Farm on Valley Road was zoned for senior housing and in the late 1980’s a deed for a 4 ½ acre tract of land was transferred to then Passaic Township (later changed to Long Hill Township). Ground breaking to build the 52 unit complex for senior citizens, handicapped and disabled individuals took place in May of 1990. Lounsberry Meadow opened its doors and the first resident moved into the building in October 1991.
